Pocola Public Schools is seeking motivated, student-centered individuals to serve as Assistant Coaches across various athletic programs. We are committed to building a culture of excellence, character, and competitive success while supporting the academic and personal growth of all student-athletes.  Coaches may be able to coach three seasons, but our goal is for each coach to just coach  two to avoid burnout.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach in planning, organizing, and supervising team activities
• Support skill development, strength and conditioning, and game preparation
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive character development
• Help monitor academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes
• Ensure compliance with all district policies and Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association regulations
• Maintain open communication with players, parents, and school staff
• Assist with equipment management and facility upkeep

Qualifications:

• Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate preferred (or ability to obtain appropriate certification/employment clearance)
• Coaching experience or strong background in the sport is preferred
• Knowledge of Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association rules and regulations
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required

Additional Information:

• Teaching assignments may be available based on certification and district needs
• All positions are contingent upon satisfactory background check and board approval
