Job Summary

Frederick Douglass High School is seeking a dedicated, high-energy, and character-driven Head Boys Soccer Coach to lead our soccer program. We are looking for a leader who can cultivate a competitive, disciplined, and supportive environment that pushes our student-athletes to excel both on the pitch and in the classroom.  

The Head Coach will be responsible for all aspects of the boys soccer program, including varsity team management, player development, strategy, and fostering a positive team culture rooted in pride and sportsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership: Plan, organize, and execute structured, high-quality daily practices and game strategies.

Student-Athlete Development: Instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, tactics, and physical conditioning necessary for individual and team growth.

Academic & Character Mentorship: Monitor student-athletes' academic progress, enforcing team standards for classroom behavior, attendance, and grades.

Operations & Safety: Manage team travel, equipment inventory, and game-day logistics in coordination with the Athletic Department. Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic association guidelines.

Community Relations: Maintain professional and effective communication with parents, school staff, media, and the community.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Previous coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred. Deep tactical and technical knowledge of soccer.

Skills: Excellent communication, strong organizational abilities, and a proven track record of positively motivating young athletes.
