Head Football Coach

Wyandotte High School

Wyandotte High School seeks a dedicated and experienced Head Football Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. A teaching field is open and will be assigned based on the candidate's qualifications.  

Responsibilities:

The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of managing a successful, comprehensive high school program.

Direct and oversee the overall development and success of a strong football program.

Establish and maintain a clear vision with high expectations for both the football and power lifting programs.

Lead, mentor, and manage the entire coaching staff for both programs.

Direct player development, focusing on skill acquisition, team development, and general sports knowledge.

Instill leadership skills, positive self-image, and pride in all student-athletes.

Ensure full compliance with the WHS Athletic Philosophy regarding attitude, discipline, rules, and academic standards.

Actively promote the programs within the school and the wider Wyandotte community.

Work cooperatively with other athletic staff to ensure a balanced, well-rounded athletic department.

Collaborate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, budgeting, and all administrative duties.

Qualifications:

Head-coaching experience is preferred but not required for an otherwise exceptional candidate.  

Experience or demonstrable knowledge in power lifting, strength training, or certified strength and conditioning instruction.

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor student-athletes and staff.  

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated commitment to maintaining the highest level of ethical and moral behavior for staff and players.
