Girls Basketball Coach - Pocola

Pocola Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes both on and off the court. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, character, and a commitment to building a competitive and positive basketball program in grades 6-12.  

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead all aspects of the girl's basketball program
  • Develop practice plans, game strategies, and offseason training
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and academic success
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members
  • Coordinate scheduling, equipment, transportation, and program needs
  • Ensure compliance with OSSAA and district policies
  • Assist in developing youth basketball programs and community engagement

Qualifications:

  • Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate preferred
  • Coaching experience in basketball preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes
  • CDL certification or willingness to obtain preferred

Position Details:

  • Teaching field may be available based on certification
  • Competitive stipend based on experience and district schedule, bonuses available based on team performance
