Girls Basketball Coach - Pocola
Pocola Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes both on and off the court. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, character, and a commitment to building a competitive and positive basketball program in grades 6-12.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and lead all aspects of the girl's basketball program
- Develop practice plans, game strategies, and offseason training
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and academic success
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members
- Coordinate scheduling, equipment, transportation, and program needs
- Ensure compliance with OSSAA and district policies
- Assist in developing youth basketball programs and community engagement
Qualifications:
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate preferred
- Coaching experience in basketball preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes
- CDL certification or willingness to obtain preferred
Position Details:
- Teaching field may be available based on certification
- Competitive stipend based on experience and district schedule, bonuses available based on team performance
